Individual Therapy

Whether you are looking for guidance around a specific mental health diagnosis or a general life challenge, I strive to help you reconnect with yourself, identify your strengths and values, and address past wounds and present difficulties in a way that is healing and empowering.

Anxiety

Anxiety disorders are the most common mental health concern in the United States, so if you struggle with anxiety, know that you are not alone. These issues can range from troublesome to debilitating, and I provide a warm, supportive environment to address and navigate these painful feelings. I draw from ACT (Acceptance and Commitment Therapy) and mindfulness practices to help clients address general anxiety, phobias and panic attacks.

Millennials

If you are in your late 20s or 30s, our work often involves diving into existential questions around identity formation based on your values and goals, as well as developing strategies to help you manage the stressors of being a young adult in today’s ever-changing world.

Trauma

Using EMDR (Eye-Movement Desensitization & Reprocessing), I help you process single-incident traumas as well as more complex traumas  you may have experienced in the past that continue to create suffering in your life.

Grief & Loss

We all experience the pain of loss during our lives. Grief is a normal response to loss and there is no "right" way to grieve. These losses can come in the form of the death of a loved one, an illness, an empty nest, the change of a career, or a dream that never happened. While grief is universal, our response to it is specific and varies from person to person. It is here I function as a guide, holding space for clients to grieve while helping them learn to ride the waves of loss toward a new sense of meaning.

Midlifers

For those experiencing midlife, our focus can explore the evocative question ‘what do I want to do with my next act?’ Amidst life changes that might have you feeling confused, sad and unsure, there is also a palpable sense of opportunity during this time.  We work together to unlock that sense of possibility to help you fully embrace the you that you are meant to be.
“I think midlife is when the universe gently places her hands upon your shoulders, pulls you close, and whispers in your ear: I’m not screwing around. It’s time.”

– Brené Brown, PhD

Depression

Has depression started to affect your life in negative ways? Maybe you're feeling sad or empty, you're unmotivated and are isolating from friends and family, you aren't sleeping well (or are sleeping a lot), you're having a hard time concentrating, or are feeling hopeless with suicidal thoughts. I aim to create a space where you can feel safe to share troubling thoughts and feelings, where we can examine negative thoughts and actions and consider other options. Through our work together, we focus on reconnecting you with  your strengths and fortifying them to help create a more adaptive view of yourself and the world.

Adult ADHD

Informed by CBT (Cognitive Behavioral Therapy) & ACT, we work on managing the symptoms of ADHD that might be creating obstacles to leading the life you want. We practice skills to increase organization and decrease distractibility, and address secondary issues that may arise, such as low self-esteem, relationship problems, challenges at work, anxiety, depression and shame.
